The eye thing also looks vaguely Egyptian and ancient egyptian motifs were really popular in the art deco era so maybe they were going for that. I love Freemasonry all-seeing eye symbols and ancient Egyptian motifs so I dig it. In any other city people would kill for a building like this, but it is almost a let down for Chicago.
