The OMB has grown into something it was never meant to be, should not be at no fault of its own. Both the city and developers have taken advantage of its presence. This should have been addressed the minute developers began circumnavigating the planning process and planning gave up processing application knowing full well it was a waste of time. The end result of all these compromised agreements is something we and future Torontonians will have to deal with for a long time. They certainly have created tall and dense communties but, have they create strong, livable communities?

The current system isn't good for anyone. With that said, I don't know if the upcoming changes to the OMB will address it. I would rather know I can only build 6 times the area when buying property to develop than to speculate along with everyone else that I can get up to 20 times allowed.
