Record population growth for Windsor continues this quarter, growing by 3.9% annually, the strongest growth in 25 years.

Unfortunately, the article confuses the population of 15 year olds and above with the actual metro population, as well as the number of new residents added. It also uses the old boundaries of the metro, which Statscan uses in its monthly labour market indicators.

It states that 3,600 new residents have moved to the area so far this year, but with the new boundaries added and the additional under 15 year olds added in, I would think the actual number is actually closer to 4,500 new residents.

It also states the the area added 12,100 new residents in the past 12 months, which would work out to around 15,000 or so with the new boundaries and under 15 year olds added. So I would imagine our actual metro population is around 440,000 to 445,000 currently. At these rates half a million is not too far off.
