This is a huge and awesome project for the City of Calgary.
The NMC isn't just going to be for Calgary, it is actually Canada's National Music Centre. It will house the Canadian Music and Canadian Country Music Halls of Fame, the largest collection of musical artifacts in the country (including the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio and the Piano that Elton John recorded some of his first albums on), five floors of exhibitions which will explore the stories of music in Canada, and much much more.
It will also have a 300-seat adaptable performance venue inside, live performances at the King Eddy 7 days a week, and the road that goes under the building will be closed and turned into a concert venue for major performances.
