There is (almost) no such thing as an Ontarian identity. As people have mentioned before, Ontario is Canada and that’s about it. Across Southern Ontario one could make the point that Windsor is the “Canadian part” of Detroit, Toronto is Canada’s metropolis, Ottawa is Canada’s capital, Niagara Falls is the Canadian side of an international attraction, etc. Franco-Ontarians obviously have their own identity.
