It's worth noting that the new Innisfree and new Booth will flank the new Federal Courthouse block. For years, the university strip and downtown's Temerson Square were pretty much the main bar areas in town, but these new ones are pretty much halfway in between.
Also, according to WVUA7 TV tonight, the city is planning to preserve 1,800 acres around lakes Nicol and Harris as park land. Although people use the lakes already, it's good to see it officially protected as such for future generations. This will be the city's largest park.
