It's not feasible in the near future for them to even consider leaving MLS. Quality of play, franchise valuations, branding, marketing...literally everything is better for them in MLS right now.

Give it a couple decades and if the CPL is on a strong footing maybe there's a possibility. Maybe.

CPL officials have been floating with the idea of creating a CPL2 once they reach ~16 teams with some pro/rel interaction between the two. The league needs to be created in a way where pyramid financing makes sense for teams in either league and isn't a death-knell for going down or impossible to compete when going up.
