Yeah, IMO there are essentially two condos in Austin that have truly "protected" views: Plaza Lofts and the Hilton. Plaza Lofts because they are already surrounded save for Republic Square and the Federal Courthouse (which aren't going anywhere), and the Hilton because it's mostly surrounded by dirty 6th (historic), and the convention center.

I wish more condo buyers (and owners, I suppose) would realize that living in a downtown area means more buildings might come next to you. The lone exception being the few very top floors of condos like the Austonian/Independent (being so high, it's just unlikely to be blocked).

Some of those are merely Interested Parties who have signed up to receive updates about the development. But many of the letters (4/5 of the ones I looked at) are directly opposing it, and giving their stated reasons why.
