My understanding is the first season will be a low profile launch and will involve test markets and a limited number of teams, with a full launch with twice the number of teams the year after. They want to tweek the format and adjust it based on feedback the first year before going all in during the second. Growth will continue after that, the feedback is there's lots of demand from owners groups and sponsors for such a league.
