Istanbul doesn't get any attention at all in the US. The situation with the Kurds and Cypress' economic collapse are barely mentioned out here. People are surprised to learn that Turkey is bigger than the UK and France and that Istanbul is such a dynamic city.
Surprising to hear that it'd rank that high, but not that it'd be on this list. Amazing city.
