well i was driving though late last night, fully awake in case anyone was wondering. Holy BLT! my imagination was completely saturated with the idea of a tower at that point. The la riviere site is so freaken ideal of a spot for a tower.(A real big tragedy that it cannot happen) It would completely widens the skyline and take charge of that disconnect that follows the HSBC.(maybe its the buffalo news?) I don't know how to explain it other then drive by and put a tower there for yourself.
It completely changes the character of everything, the 190, those apt buildings, our main area of waterfront and just the connectivity between buildings, because we get rid of the canker sore. I really do think that its an area that people haven't thought of the potential.
The location is isolated but on the perfect axis to (pastoriously) liberate the city from the hsbc. The location would also be a major player for the revitalization of the harbor and cobblestone districts. driving from the south towns the building would almost appear in front of the 190.
The new waterfront project is going to provide a clean resonance with the blue cross blue sheild, fo sizzle.
There are already enough community condos in that region that it wouldn't be awful to cash our chips for the current tower and go with a combination for best results. A tower should try to do something in an area that was an aesthetic hopeful, but flat contextually. we know someone out there wants to build a tower.
For me that site is the cherry on top.
