Fun fact : this is located on Céline-Dion boulevard. BUT. According to the Commission de toponymie du Québec, in order to commemorate someone in the public space (street, park, etc.), this person has to be dead since at least 24 months... For important people, this delay can be shortened to 12 months. -_- So I guess that maybe the town of Charlemagne is illegal ... OR... that Céline's dead and we didn't know about it.
Or maybe the road was named before the regulation came into force, or before the Commission started really enforcing it. There are lots of things here and there and Quebec that are named for living people but they are grandfathered I am pretty sure.
