For all its modesty, I think it is probably
the most striking in California at night when everything is illuminated; (and i can't remember the last time i saw that.)
It's just too bad the state now controls two buildings that were built with ornamental lighting only to see it go dark when the state took the keys.
Then there's the Federal Courthouse... (Can't light it just in case Osama decides to hijack a 747 out of Sacramento InterGalactic Airport).
