This one still infuriates me. I've been following NYC development closely for 9 years now, and in that time this one still takes the cake of the most beautiful building torn down, combined with the most boring forgettable replacement.
The loss of the original building was bad enough, but it would have been an acceptable loss if what rose in its place was a supertall, starchitect designed stunner.
Instead we get some mid rise, 27 story blue glass hunk of mediocrity.
