Projects & Construction:
I want to thank the photographers and local businesses, sharing updates on projects, who make this thread possible. Without you, these weekly updates won't happen. If you would like to see your project on this thread, just post photographs to social media.

This is such an exciting time to follow Winston-Salem development. One project is completed and several more are proposed or ready to move forward!

Reynolds Athletic Complex:
This is just my opinion, but I don't really care for the windows. The entrance looks as if it could be very impressive? Workers recently installed the roof and this project will open in three months.

Six Colleges/Universities Provide Startup Funding:
Six colleges and universities in Winston-Salem are partnering to support entrepreneurship in the city through grants to startups created by students or alumni. David Mounts said “This collaboration sends a very clear message that if you are a student or alumni of a Winston-Salem college or university and you have a great idea, you will be supported here, through your school, this grant program, Downtown's Innovation Quarter (IQ District), Venture Cafe, the Winston-Salem Alliance... Winston-Salem has come together to support innovations." The businesses must be located in Winston-Salem or relocate to Winston-Salem to receive the funding.

Bailey Business Center - Building 23-2: (Bailey Power Plant Complex)
With this building nearing completion in five months, we are learning of a possible new tenant. Salem College is considering opening a Center for Women & Innovation in this building. Salem College currently needs a sponsor to make this happen. The center will support women and help them identify with being creators, innovators and entrepreneurs. Salem College said they want to be part of inclusive innovation and entrepreneurship in Winston-Salem and take part in what is happening in downtown's IQ District. They will locate next to Venture Cafe, to take advantage of their programing. If you would like to be a financial sponsor for this, please contact Salem College.

Twin City Slice Pizza, building next to the demolition site, said this on their facebook page "Lots of news about the building next to Slice! where a wall collapsed today. All Slice employees are safe and sound and so is our building. Our thoughts are with the workers whom we have gotten to know over the last few weeks as they have torn down the building next to us. They have become our friends. Reports are the one worker taken to the hospital is going to be OK. Thank you for all the messages, calls and texts about our well being!"
