They have to have URLS - If they are on your harddrive, you have to upload them to an image hosting server - Imageshack is the best since it's free (Flickr is popular and free too). Just follow the directions, copy the url provided after you upload for pics or thumbnails, and paste it in. (Thats just basic instructions, each site is a little different, but it's actually easy when you get used to it.) You might find another hosting site which works just as well.

If you want to practice the posting part, it's best to use the Testing section of this site to try it until you get it right. One tip is to resize your pics first, down to at least 1024 pixels wide.

Basically you have to paste the URL
(Including the file extension, such as .jpg), with [img] in front of it and [/img] after it with no spaces, and make sure the IMG tages are not already duplicated, as in the case with Imageshack where they can include the IMG tags for you.
