Devon Energy unveiled plans Thursday for a 285-seat auditorium that will overlook a new courtyard and the adjoining 50-story new office tower that will become the company’s headquarters.





Devon Energy Corp. unveiled plans Thursday for a 285-seat auditorium that will feature a 30-degree angled glass facade overlooking a new courtyard and the adjoining 50-story new office tower that will become the company’s headquarters.

The auditorium is designed to "anchor” the corner of Sheridan and Hudson Avenues, and at 42 feet tall will be the equivalent of a three- to four-story building.

"We’ve treated it as a piece of art,” said Jon Pickard, project architect. "We’ve sculpted it so that it becomes quite powerful. It’s more expressionistic.”

The designs mark one of the final features of the Devon Energy headquarters that required approval of the Downtown Design Review Committee, which unanimously approved the project Thursday.
