I would hope by now Nashville planners have gotten over this negative impact high rise buildings have on historical areas. I really don't think tourist care one way or another if an 18 story building sits behind, across the street from or next to one of those honkytonks in downtown. I think right now, tourist are more concerned with having more to do. There just needs to be some common sense used regarding the height of buildings. It's not like they are proposing a 60 story building next to a 3 story run down site. I'd rather have an 18 story building next to me than an ugly blacktop parking lot.
