Michael Sorkin didn't help design this, did he? Maybe Foster just borrowed the ideas from him and
Paolo Soleri... and it appears that it will minimize its eco-footprint on the ground at the same time.
Just think about how much light a normal skyscraper blocks - yet they have less actual usable floor area. This thing (hopefully) will be super efficient.
