Not that I do not like trains. they are a part of NYC life.
However, when you have what will probably be one of the best water/sunset views in the city, do you really want to see the trains in front of that view?
As far as future building being built over this space, that is years in the making I don't even believe plans have been finalized yet have they? The proposal I was making was UNTIL further construction is finalized and started, a roof of some sort would be an idea water/view enhancement.
