A possible new huge development to happen in the future, here's a few excerpts from the article.

Plan could bring new city to West Escambia
16,000 acres being eyed for development has potential to be major economic engine

It's big, it's bold and it's very ambitious.

And if the overall vision comes together as planned, a large-scale community that includes an industrial park, homes for those who work in the park, and retail businesses will emerge in western Escambia County.

A group of Pensacola developers and land owners is taking the first steps toward development of a contiguous 16,000-acre tract that's north of Interstate 10 and runs about eight miles north between Beulah Road and U.S. 29.

The project has the potential to further transform the entire Beulah area, which has already been bolstered in the past few years by the development of Navy Federal Credit Union's Heritage Oaks campus.

But don't hold your breath; at best, it will be many years and millions of dollars in the making.
