I don't think that's a bad thing, from the rendering I think these towers would look epic in their location.
Let's be real, LA doesn't really have that many buildings (for such a large North American city at least) at all so there's not too many of anything.

Oceanwide's is basically complete, and it's Shenglong who's behind it. Not sure their track record though.
