Nickelback played here twice, and both were great shows and they sold out the metro center and played on the hill and everyone loved them, so say what you want but there clearly a huge band for a reason. I'm not really sure what some of you are looking for when you say we get nothing but old bands. I'm 25 myself and I grew up listening to petty. Hes timeless. Learning to fly will never get old, same with free falling. Also we have had plenty of big name newer artists play here. Goo goo dolls played the metro center and was a great show. Rob Thomas as well. I went to both shows and they were great and I can't confirm that they were sold out but both appeared to be. Arcade Fire was epic. And of course we had Metallica last year. It would be nice to have an event like snow jam that had several great bands playing and was sold out. I forget the other show that was on the hill the following year but it too was great. Lots of great artists. Maybe not one big name but lots of talent. Personally I've seen Collective Soul play here 4 times. They definitely aren't as big as they were in the 90's but there still just as good, just not the kind of music they play on the damn radio anymore. They played at the palace actually and it was crazy how many people they fit in there. Also they played 2 sold out shows at the casino and played at the Cunard center. I've been to a ton of concerts. Driven up to Toronto for some. I have to say collective soul is the best band I've ever seen live hands down. Anyway gettin off topic a little bit, sorry. I tend to ramble uncontrollably lol.
