I think if Halifax wants to get it's music scene back to the early flames of success it experienced, it needs to avoid those big bombastic mix-match of 50k concerts right now.

The Arcade Fire show was awesome, and an example of the scale that we should be putting our efforts into. Instead of convincing the big shows to come here, we should be making ourselves a place to put on their tour list. 10X 7-8 thousand successful shows through the year, is better publicity than 1 somewhat successful 40-50k show.

Even getting some acts from the tours that pass through Montreal, like the Heavy MTL fest has some well known names, and a lot of local acts to bulwark it. Even getting two of those bands to land here with the largely unrecognized local metal scene adding it's
weight would be a good example. Some of you might look upon that particular scene as of a delinquent movement, it is merely an example. I'm sure the Vaudeville scene has it's own hits.

IMHO, however I put my pants on, one leg at a time.
