I think he's my aunt's date for the occasion. (Considering the proximity of USC to the location, we are likely seeing some Trojans here.)
While my mother was somewhat austere, my aunt was inevitably bright and cheerful and fun to be with, which always comes out in her pix, young or old. She and I were very close.
The photo is likely being taken by one of the several gal pals who (I know from other pix I didn't post) were in attendance.
