The Canadian approach road is an engineer's wet dream... tell me the Canadian government is not considering something of this magnitude.

Matty Maroun illegally built Pier 19 in anticipation that he would construct a second privately-owned bridge to Canada. Neither the Michigan nor the Canadian governments will ever allow that to happen. The Canadians don't want the additional surface street traffic in Windsor, and MDOT has been in a very long legal battle with Maroun's company because Maroun's construction of Pier 19 violated a contract he had with MDOT to connect the Ambassador bridge approach directly to I-75.

The proposed bridge in Delray is a separate project, and will be publicly funded and operated. The Canadian government has agreed to pay the entire up-front cost of construction. Michigan's half of the bill will be paid by future toll revenues. This hasn't prevented Matty Maroun from waging an all-out propaganda war in an attempt to convince Detroiters that the bridge is unnecessary and will cost taxpayers millions. He's a complete and total scumbag.
