Photograph of an exterior view of the old Los Angeles County Hall of Records as seen from the west portico of City Hall, October 1, 1972. The Hall of Records is at center and is a large, light-colored building that splits into two sections halfway up to the top. Large rectangular windows line the perimeter of the building, and decorative molding can be seen near the top of the structure. A large building with hundreds of small windows can be seen at left. In the foreground, the tiled ceiling of the portico can be seen, along with several supporting columns.
This has to be a reverse print. When looking out the west portico of City Hall, the Hall of Records would be point to the right, not the left, and the new Criminal Courts building is also to the right of the old Hall of Records. I was just there Monday and took a picture out the west Portico as well. Here's another link to my collection: https://plus.google.com/photos/10587...57782495364385
