Man, you Calgarians are awfully sensative. The Calgary Stampede is one of the defining events of the city. I don't see what's bad about that, or the Virgin Music Festival capitalizing on that.
If you guys could organize a festival with Radiohead, Daft Punk, Feist, Arcade Fire, Metric, Death Cab for Cutie, MSTRKRFT, Constantines, The New Pornographers, and Chemical Brothers (amongst others mentioned here), I'd be in Calgary in an instant. In the meantime, the line up looks pretty decent, though I agree that the headliners aren't spectacular.
