The renewal of the Edmonton Soapbox derby is on and lots of kids registered. This event is part of the Race Week Edmonton group and is the only one not involving engines.
The event will be using Victoria Hill (116th Street and 100th Avenue) and run from 9 AM to 4 PM or so.
We figure we need about another 35 volunteers to make this an event to be really proud of. Positions needed include traffic marshalls, setup/takedown, starter, finish line crew, and registration. All volunteers will get fed with a Fat Franks smokey and drink and receive a Soapbox Derby t-shirt. If you are free this Sunday and want to see some gravity led speed, contact Melanie at

We have over 60 kids registered for the derby and will be the continuation of derbys that were held from 1946 onwards.
