I didn't know that about Quebec, but I definitely notice it when I fly over Toronto. In some suburbs it seems like every second house has a pool, when they're hardly a thing in Vancouver. It surprises me because in my anecdotal experience people tend to be wary of pools, and I think houses with pools go for less money. People just don't want that maintenance headache (and the cost that goes along with it).
