The Newark light rail needs a capacity expansion to handle the extra volume. Its quite packed during any given peak hours range, and if the CBD and its proxies adds more units (which is happening and the increase in the pipeline), its going to get sardine like within those trains.
Plus you have tons of NJIT / Essex County and RU Newark students already crowding it.
