September 14, 2013 - Duckworth Street East from Cavendish Square, St. John's, NL

This is two streets up from the harbour. Water Street (our main, downtown street) is just downhill to the left. And left of that is Harbour Drive.

The big buildings on the left are, from left, the Marriott Hotel, the Humphrey Gilbert Building, TD Place, and then in the distance are the Cabot Place Towers on New Gower Street.

The park between the Humphrey Gilbert Building and TD Place is the National War Memorial, which runs from Duckworth to Water Street. Directly opposite the Memorial across Water Street is Harbourside Park, so combined they're basically a small, two-block park. During the day, there's always crowds lounging on the grass. It's a nice atmosphere, one of those places you can find one just like and feel at home in just about city on earth (except Istanbul, now. ).
