hkskyline's 2018 in Vancouver
Granville Island may look unappetizing, being underneath a bridge heading into downtown, but on closer inspection, it is a hidden gem with wonderful water views and plenty of food options in the public market. This was once a declining industrial site but was rescued in the 1970s by government efforts. Warehouses and factories were converted into galleries, studios, and restaurants.
Remember to head inside the Granville Island Public Market to see fresh groceries, delicious pastries, and more!
The cement factory is the only industrial facility left on the island. Even the chimneys are decorated, while houseboats float nearby with great views.
