Good news for night owls in Detroit: M-1 Rail is extending hours for the QLINE.
Currently, the QLINE hours are: Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday 6 a.m. to midnight; Saturday 8 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
But starting New Year's Day, the QLINE will run until midnight Monday-Thursday, 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 p.m. on Sunday, said spokesman Dan Lijana.
The light rail system also is hiring more operators to decrease the time between trains, he said.
