e_r: For what it's worth, here's the Los Angeles Times write-up on Bloom, March 1, 1974:
SONG WRITER FOUND SHOT TO DEATH[.] Song writer-performer Robert Martin (Bobby) Bloom, who composed the hit “Montego Bay,” was shot to death in the West Hollywood home of a former girlfriend, sheriff’s detectives reported. Officers said Bloom, 28, may have killed himself. Bloom’s roommate, Ronald Wayne Norton, told officers he and Bloom were visiting Linda Marie Karakehian at 807 N. Sweetzer Ave. when Bloom went into a bedroom and a shot was heard a short time later.
