^Interesting read. While I can sympathize with the concerns of the neighbours and their sense of loss, the comments made by the "trained architect" neighbour are over the top. Normal people shouldn't live in Crescentwood? Wow.
If I'm not mistaken, there are already some newer, modern looking houses along Ruskin Row by Peanut Park. As long as the houses conform to the zoning restrictions of the neighbourhood, I can't see the harm. Also, I can't imagine dropping 600K on a house just to demo and rebuilt. That is a sign of a highly desirable neighbourhood!
