Hockey in general is the number 2 sport in the Twin Cities when you factor in the Gophers and high school hockey on top of the wild. The NHL specifically is probably behind the Vikings and Twins. Based on all the times I have been there they are ahead of the Timberwolves rather easily in popularity.
