With the last of the funding in place, it looks like the new Salvation Army campus will break ground soon. This Streetview from 2014 shows one of the former buildings, which housed a grocery store, and which is now demolished.

Three years after the Salvation Army announced plans to transform a vacant block in Harrisburg into a new service center, the project has finally secured the cash to move forward with construction. The Community First Fund announced Friday that it was giving a $5 million allocation of federal tax credits to the Salvation Army to build the 38,700 square-foot facility at 506 South 29th Street.
