If I remember correctly, Century City's height limit is slightly under 600 feet. That's due to FAA regulations for the nearby Santa Monica Airport though, not the protests of westside NIMBYs.

I think the Jean Nouvel design was scrapped a few years ago, which is a shame. From what I've read, after all of the digging that occurred in the summer, the lot was filled back in.
