In California, a similar distance is still about $60 on Amtrak for an advanced fare. Not a great value considering how much longer a train ride is compared to driving or flying. And it isn’t an eight hour drive between Boise and Portland as quoted in that article. So some train enthusiasts and rural Oregonians aren’t going to keep a rail line going. Just being realistic...
