This is excellent news. The section of New Jersey Ave, SE between Capitol Hill and the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood can be a bit desolate at night and this will improve connectivity between these two neighborhoods. The rooftop lounge also promises to offer incredible views of the Capitol.

Developer Greystar has applied to deliver a mixed-use hotel to a portion of the 10.85-acre site at 861 New Jersey Avenue SE. The ten-story building will have up to 200 hotel rooms and street-level retail, along with a rooftop lounge. The development team is seeking zoning relief from the build-to line requirements in order to ensure an uninterrupted streetscape along New Jersey Avenue..."
