Stellarton is a mining town about halfway between Halifax and Sydney. The main street is a secondary downtown of the New Glasgow area. Stellarton is also home base for Empire Corp which owns Sobeys, Safeway Canada (recent acquisition), Crombie REIT, and until recently Empire Theatres which it just sold to Cineplex.
