I know this isn't related to a specific development of any type, but it's important for continued investment in the area. The Census Bureau released the 2011 estimates today, and it shows New Orleans as the 9th fastest growing county in the nation from 2010 to 2011 The metro area ranked 35th in growth.
The New Orleans Metro Area grew 2.0% from 1,167,764 to 1,191,089. The city of New Orleans population increased from 343,829 to 360,740 representing a growth rate of 4.9%. Very impressive rates of growth for the area...as evidenced by all of the construction activity going on right now.
