There are 57 municipalities in the state of Delaware. I have visited and photgraphed all 57 of them, and at some point in the last 7 years, have produced photothreads for all 57 places. After finally posting the photothread for the last municipality that I hadn't shown yet, Bridgeville, it's time to showcase the entire state for everyone. As my first photothread of the year, I thought that this would be a nice way to open up 2012.
Below, you will find at least 2 pictures of each city, town, and village in Delaware, that I think accurately portray each community. Some pictures are regular street scenes, and some are of municipal landmarks. For many places, I included more than my minimum of 2 pictures, in order to give you a better idea of what the place is like. For the most part, a place with more pictures is more prominent than a place with less pictures. They are categorized by county, and are in a somewhat geographical order.
Delaware does not follow the township format found in most northern states. However, we do have "hundreds" (one of the unique things about Delaware), which functioned similarly to townships but are not municipalities anymore. You will not find hundreds in this thread, but some day maybe I'll document all of Delaware's hundreds.
As a bonus, I am going to include 2 pictures of many of Delaware's notable unincorporated communities.
