I always hate to overgeneralize and delcare sprawl dead but I do think really far flung suburbs are a thing of the past and esecpially so in areas that were hit hard by the housing bust. One of the interesting things watch house hunters now is that most of the time the buyers are choosing the less appealing house/or smaller one mainly because of location. No one wants to be too far away anymore.
