How many Americans visit St. John's? Where do they usually come from?
Relative to our population, quite a few - enough to notice every summer. But as a number, not many at all.

In 2015, the total number of Americans who visited St. John's by car was 11,275. I can't find the statistics for air travel, which would be more common, or cruise ship travel, which all originate in Europe and would include a token number of Americans as they tend to just stop here on the way to NYC, but not many.

So I'd say overall it's probably somewhere in the area of 30,000.

I usually see New York and Massachusetts plates. Sometimes the Carolinas and Vermont. Arizona is also REALLY common (at least once a week, even in winter) but only on U-haul trucks so I assume they have some sort of head office there.
