Right after the Olympics there was definately a short-term lull in the economy in the downtown area. There had been such a frenzied build-up before the big event. Of course, a big part of the downturn was attributable to 9-11 and it's ripple effect. However, there's hardly a day that doesn't go by that the headlines over the past four years have not proclaimed the Wasatch Metro as the number one growth economy, lowest unemployment, highest job growth in the nation. Also it's the third fastest growing in terms of population now,"right behind Vegas and Arizona." Anyway, you're probably not interested, but if you do want the stats, I'll post them for you.
