I think the Stamford Bridge design is a mixture of both and is certainly unique.
The retractable pitch will be located under the south ‘Kop’ stand which is adjacent to where the high-rises are currently planned for. Not many images have been released, but I believe the following image shows the ‘storage’ area for the pitch.
