Minister Says Deficit is Down by $113-million

Finance Minister Tom Marshall provided an update today on the state of the province's finances. In April, government pegged the projected deficit this year at $563-million, based on $105 for a barrel of oil. That number is now $450.6-million, $113-million less than announced back at budget time. Marshall also says he expects the province to be back to having a surplus by 2015-16.
The province's debt is now $9.1-billion, down from $9.5-billion
