WWMT did a short story about some old brick arches that were unearthed during excavations for the new Exchange tower. If you like history, you might find it interesting. Here's a link to the video; I couldn't figure out how to embed it directly:

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A bit of history has been uncovered in downtown Kalamazoo as construction crews unearthed arches that date back decades. The discovery was made under a parking lot at the corner of Rose Street and Michigan Avenue, where construction of the new 15-story Exchange Building is underway. Kalamazoo’s Public Works Director says it’s not surprising that the vaults were uncovered, it was once an important part of older, brick buildings.

It would be neat if some of that old brick could be incorporated into the new work. Kinda makes you wonder what is buried under the many other surface lots in the city. Here's some screenshots from the news story.
